OVERVIEW
Take part in sharing the cultures, ideas and practices of America's military history with classroom students. As a presenter with the Heritage Outreach Program (HOP), you tell the story of a nation's dedication to promoting independence and freedom.
National Guard Career Counselors are invited to visit classrooms across America to discuss exciting historical points of four American wars, illustrating them with stories, images, maps and hands-on objects. Using the presentation materials developed by the Army National Guard, you can confidently talk to students about the nation you proudly serve.
In addition to the live presentation, Career Counselors share a beautifully designed Student Textbook exploring four American wars with students. Career Counselors are also provided with a trunk of historical objects from war times, which provide a dynamic impression of military equipment in times past.
An introduction to military history sheds light on the experiences that have shaped our nation. By visiting a local classroom to give a presentation, you stimulate students to learn about their past and make history come alive.
