HOW PRESENTATIONS WORK
Teachers may contact a Career Counselor to schedule a presentation. When contacting the Career Counselor, the teacher may request a presentation on a specific war.
The four wars available are:
- War of 1812
- Civil War
- World War I
- World War II
The Career Counselor will visit the classroom and give a 35-minute presentation during which he/she will distribute HOP Student Textbooks for the students to keep. Teachers are encouraged to work with Career Counselors to schedule a uniformed military historian to visit the class to enhance the presentation.
After the Career Counselor's presentation concludes, the teacher is encouraged to make use of the Teacher Curriculum Guide provided by the Heritage Outreach Program. At the conclusion of the presentation the Career Counselor will also encourage the teacher to share their feedback and experiences of the program through an online survey
